Safely in Guangzhou

Hope did great on her first flight. She is a go-with-the-flow kind of child but still displaying fear. She is comforted by having both of her hands held--by momma and Cherish--or by sitting in momma's lap.

Cherish is so patient and always trying everything she knows to comfort Hope in her fears. I marvel constantly at her patience and understanding! (As an example: Hope sleeps in a playpen--as that is all she has ever known--and Cherish sleeps with one arm in the playpen in order to touch and comfort Hope!)

Today was Hope's half-birthday. She is now 4-1/2. She got to pick out a special snack to take on the plane, and we took her out for a birthday dinner. Unfortunately, she choked on dinner and ended up needing the Heimlich Manuever. It was very scary! We were shaking and so grateful when it was all over. Thank You, Lord, for the rescue!

In holding and cuddling Hope through the travel day, I discovered something interesting. Hope has at least 4 cowlicks in her hair! I've never seen anything like it. It's cool!

BTW, that computer guru on our team will hopefully help us get some pictures up tomorrow.

Good night and thank you for the many prayers!

Your Cherish is quite possibly the sweetest child I have ever met. :) And H has multiple cowlicks...makes doing hair interesting, but oh how adorable they are! :)

Hugs,
Laurie

Wow! I have one myself since I was little...
You might have to stock up on styling gel if
She wants them tamed when she gets older
