Well, September has begun with a bang. My calendar is exploding with activities. We have decided that Cherish will continue with her swimming, since she likes it so much.
Actually, Cherish's grandparents gave her three months of swimming lessons as a gift, but we chose not to have her in lessons in July due to vacation. (We didn't want to waste the money with missed classes.) So, we thought the summer was "over", so that was it. Nope. Her grandparents still had another month to give her. THANKS, Pappy and Nanny!
In addition to going to swim lessons twice a week, she'll begin ballet and tap dance next week--for the school year. She will also begin Pioneer Clubs next week, go to MEMS play dates, library preschool time, etc. Her calendar is busier than mine.
So, while I was setting up our schedules for the month, I made her a cornstarch and water mixture. If you mix cornstarch and water to just the right consistency, viola; you'll have a rubbery mixture to work with. The mixture is great for molding letters, numbers, etc. It is a lot of fun for children.
However, if you leave a ceiling fan on above the table where your child is working, the water will begin to evaporate, and you will be left with a mixture that resembles soft snow. Our "snow" was turquoise.
Then, you let the mixture/powder "fly" around the room with the help of the ceiling fan, and you have about an hour's worth of cleanup. It's great fun.
Actually, Cherish loved it. She stood playing at that table for about 4 hours! 4 hours! I was shocked.
She sang and had a blast!
It was ground into the grout:
Dollies had their lunch...and it was in the baseboard:
Just a lot of fun! Period.
