Tonight I had to take Derek to the E.R. as the stomach bug he thought was gone came back with a kick. Carileen graciously came to babysit Cherish and Andrew.
Derek will mend soon with the antibiotic the doctor gave him.
We allowed Cherish and Andrew to stay up until we got home, so they could see that everything was all right before going to bed. Plus, with the jet lag, there is no set “bed time” yet.
When we got home both children were acting quite strangely. They were both very insecure.
Cherish went to her bed and curled up under the sheets (and she never goes to bed without being told to). Andrew tried to hide in a corner while crying and pushing Derek and me away. We tried to bring back security to both children before placing them in bed for the night.
Last night Cherish had one nightmare, and Andrew had two. They’ve been in bed about an hour and a half now, and Andrew has had another bad dream.
It seems leaving the house without them, and Cherish knowing her dad was really sick, scared both of them.
We are praying for God’s comfort and hand on their little hearts and minds as they transition during this time.
God calls Himself the “Comforter”. He knows exactly how to help their little hearts.
Trusting in such a good God,
Julie (for the family)
Since this was an unexpected post, plan on the next one having pictures. Thanks for the grace. J
