Derek’s work has had him working on a special project at work (computer-implementation project), that completely changed the summer we thought we were going to have together. Derek only had off about five days since summer began. (Thankfully, he worked Sunday afternoons and evenings, so he could worship together with the family on Sunday mornings!)
So, we planned a get-away. We knew we would be leaving for about 10 days on vacation, so we started Cherish’s school year early. She got a head-start so we could go on vacation and leave the books at home.
We left yesterday and took the train to Pennsylvania. Since Derek was tired from working so much, we decided to take the train instead of driving. Little did we know that Derek had surprised the family with changing our coach tickets for a roomette on a sleeper car. It was so nice! (Our meals were included, there was a toilet in the room, and shower facilities close to the room…) Talk about nice!!!!
THE train-lover waiting for the train:
It's here!
Dining Car:
This sink folded out of the wall
and rested on a step that led up to the top bunk.
Another step hid the toilet.
The top of this sink was another step.
Layers of the roomette.
Very cool!
My bunkmate at 1:00 a.m.:
He was so sweet!!!!
Throughout the night he kept waking up
and kissing my neck, cheeks, and lips.
THROUGHOUT the night!
I. could. eat. him. up. he's so sweet!!
At the train station waiting for daddy to get the rental car:
We're here, and it's gonna be low of 48 degrees tonight! Yay! Let the fun begin!
